DegreeArt has just launched its virtual autumn exhibition and I am happy to have two new works included. The link will take you to the online catalogue.

"The ‘Locked + Loaded’ exhibition and the artwork it showcases, is a reflection of the unplanned journey we have been on, a celebration of what has been accomplished and a permanent reminder, that together, we can transform the world for the better."

Just returned from a day stewarding the Portrait Prize Exhibition at the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham.  My portrait of Michael Harding was selected to show and is on display with some top notch artists.  The best part of the day was chatting with the visitors about the wide range of portraits.   The show is on until August 31st and I recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Once in a lifetime chance to visit a painted ceiling being restored.  Get up close to the Painted Hall Ceiling at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.  Its the largest painted ceiling in Britain open now for tours until the end of September 2018.  A thrilling experience and not just the part where you climb the scaffolding!

Portrait sitter meets portrait

2/20/2018

Portrait artists will know that it is always good fun (if not a little nerve wracking) to have that moment when a finished portrait and the portrait sitter unite for the very first time.  Great to see Teema again and to see her alongside her portrait.  Thank you Teema!

Annual Exhibition pays tribute

What a wonderful opening night at the Members and Associates Annual Exhibition at the RBSA Gallery.  I am pleased to have two paintings in the show which runs up to December 23rd.
A fond farewell was in order for the RBSA patron Lady Penelope Cobham who is stepping down after nearly 20 years of involvement with the Society.  She was presented with a plaque by the current President Robert Neil which had the names of all the presidents she has worked with over the years.  I would like to thank Lady Cobham for her contributions to the RBSA but also for being kind enough to sit for a portrait which I have recently completed and is now on show in the exhibition.
